Echos of our former selves 

Peggy Carter was a girl who wanted to help despite how badly the world had treated her.  When she said she wanted to join the war effort she was laughed at and beaten, worse so when she tried to join legally. In pursuit of trying to help during the war she was recruited to be the first female to be tested in the Super Soldier Program, so far all the males of the project had perished and they were desperate for results. Steve Rogers was an agent that they hired to pose as ‘Captain America’ because having a woman success wasn’t exactly what they had expected. 

After the war it came to light that the real Captain America was a woman. What everyone didn’t know is that the two counterparts fell in love and when she woke up in 2012 she was alone. 

“Is this the way it is Steve? The only person to ever appreciate me dying a year before I come back, just for you?”
